Pen Turning

January 26, 2021 by jdviz Leave a Comment

I found a great deal on a used Rikon lathe. I say used, but when I picked it up, the box had never been opened. Turned out to be one of the best purchases I’ve made. I’ve made bowls, dowels, spindles, pizza cutter handles, pipes, and pens. If you love working with wood, then having a quality lathe is a true joy.

Here are a few of the pens I’ve made. In this pic, the blue and light orange pens are from colored plywood blanks. The center bright orange pen is made from acrylic.

The following pens are made from orange padauk and purple heart hardwoods.
